Hi Shane,

I've been watching some of your tutorials and I had a particular question that has been left unanswered on the COW forums.
Since I'd rather not take up a huge space on your site discussing my FCP issue, do you think I could email you the details?
Feel free to contact me anytime and I'll get back to you asap with my inquiries.
Hope everything is going swimmingly!

Take care,
-Alex-

Shane - I read your piece on Avid MC 6. I am a professional off-line editor who has worked on Avid for 15 years. I installed it on my iMac (Lion) last night. I installed "codecs LE" and "PE" as well. But I can NOT import or link my media into my project. It is all MFX files from P2 cards shot in AVCI Intra on a Panasonic HPX 3000.
I was working on the same project for a short time on MC version 3.0 and imported the same files successfully. Any idea what the problem is with my new Version 6? Am I missing a particular codec?
On version 6 it asks me "what kind of bin" I want to use to import to / link in. But I am completely unfamiliar with this prompt as well..

Hi Shane,

I read your reply on the Apple FCP forum to the kid (I assume) about getting DVD footage into FCP. I didn't reply cause I didn't want all to see but I have noticed over the last few years we seem to be getting alot of new bees on the forum that think because they download a copy of FCP they are now an editor. There is alot "Under the hood" in FCP and I'm glad you told him to search for the answers. I realize that we all came up this way but these guys should know it isn't as easy as it appears.

Thanks again
