That makes the upcoming AJA KiPro that much more of a viable option, considering you could have people with QT on PCs reviewing footage, if needed.

Firewire 800 maybe...RAIDED drives like G-Raid or CalDigit VR. I have issues playing it back on a single firewire 800 drive...drops frames on occasion.

eSATA better. Remember...this is the data rate for uncompressed SD...

At highest quality i think 1080 ProRes is about 220MBit - easily within the grasp of a FW drive.

Now if only Apple would release a ProRes encoder.

Wow, I couldn't have screwed up this thread much more, huh? ;-)

Hello, Shane! I know you didn't mention the data rate so that's why I brought it up. Can ANY FW HD play back ProRes without stuttering? Just a little confused....obviously.

Shane...not Sean.

Yes, this applies to HQ too. ANd why would this only apply to SATA drives? Dude, I am saying that computers WITHOUT FCP can OPEN and SEE ProRes files now. Before they couldn't...you needed FCP installed, or a component from Apple that I linked. I didn't talk at all about data rates and the like.

Sean, would this apply to HQ and regular 422? Also, would this only apply to SATA drives or would FW be able to handle this bit rate?
