The original MXO also connects to the graphics card whereas the MXO 2 connects to its own PCI card.

Armagnac...I can get 1080 to my Dell fine with the MXO2...but I can only do it via component. Which is, well, OK, but not the best. Really only works to see my image full screen. The colors are way off...darker. So I hoped that I could HDMI>DVI it so I could get the monitor calibration...but no go. The MXO...the original MXO...took the 1920x1080 signal and adjusted it to work on 1920x1200 monitors. The MXO 2 via HDMI doesn't do that...it is looking for a 1920x1080 dimension.

NO biggie, I can get a $300 HDTV to suit this purpose. I just wanted to get my ACD some use with the new box.

And Paul...thanks for commenting. I rarely comment on blogs myself.

That makes no sense to me, I run a 1080p signal to my dell 24" every day. I've done it through VGA, DVI, and I think a long time ago I even ran a 1080p signal through there on component.

If it had a blue only button, I would use it as an occasional broadcast monitor. I love the thing, and if you tune it right, You can get REALLY close to a broadcast monitor with it.

I didn't do anything special either. But try getting it through the VGA if all else fails. You'll also want to make sure it's on "Aspect" display mode an not "Full", but that's obvious

Very interesting... incidentally I tried something similar the other day with a Blackmagic Multibridge Pro and its HDMI out - trying to get that to give a signal to an ACD with an HDMI to DVI converter. It didn't work, at all, so that may be the same issue (1920x1080 signal not recognised).

This is the first time I've commented on your blog (although I've always found it useful and interesting) but thought this might be of use for someone else to know...

Paul
