It&#039;s great when people love your stuff.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;I had never really thought of the difference between a rough and a fine edit like that before, but you are absolutely right. That&#039;s exactly how it works.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Maybe the term &quot;rough cut&quot; is what makes it sound like it should only take a couple minutes. I mean, it&#039;s just a &quot;rough cut&quot;. It&#039;s not finalized or anything.&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;But this is where most of the creative choices are made, the structure is formed, and the style is decided. After this cut it&#039;s just revisions and tweaks... unless you have to start over [smile].&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Great post! Typically I get 5 days, 7 days at the most, to cut a 30 min piece, sometimes as little as 3 days ... thats end to end from never having seen the footage or a script to producing a polished master.</description>
