I try to take eye-breaks regularly - around once every half hour or thereabouts, and I not only do eye exercises, but I get up and walk around - unless I'm deep in code or editing which case time has no meaning... ;-)

You *will* adjust to the new setup... it takes awhile, though. I know for me, that even moving the preview monitor from one side to the other will throw me off for a couple days.

I find the more screen real estate I can get, the bigger I can make the Bin text, and the track height - and maybe reduce eye strain.

Plus, taking a 5-minute break every hour is a good idea for your eyes.... you guys all take occasional breaks from looking at the monitors... right? Or maybe not...

I love my 3 monitor setup, i have two 4:3 20in monitors and then a 23 in cinema for my client monitor using cinema desktop preview. I really enjoy the "wrap around" feel of it. As a side note look for a goofy tall red headed guy with glasses on saturday, it's really cool you are taking the whole fam. I go almost every year.

Well, the Apple monitor is a loaner, so I don't want to get used to it yet.

Two 30" eh? That sounds too much for me too.

Shane, you might want to give your 3 monitor set up a little more time to get used to. Everytime I've expanded my monitor setup, I didn't like having to move my head back and forth or up and down to cover the new real estate, and I strongly considered going back to my old setup. BUt within a couple of days, I naturally adjusted, and have been happy since.

This has happened when I went from having one 23" to two 23" monitors, and it also happened a year later when I swapped one of the 23s for a 30" Cinema Display. Each time the new setup felt alien, and each time I adjusted after a couple of days. Now I'm looking forward to swapping the other 23" for a second 30"...
